Cognitive/Epistemic Coherence Division

The Cognitive/Epistemic Coherence Division stewards knowledge and participation for AI-mediated information used in belief, reasoning, knowledge, and consequential judgment. Its current normative output is the Cognitive/Epistemic Coherence Domain Profile v1.0.

Stewardship scope

The program maintains research and change proposals concerning provenance, transformation history, synthetic status, calibrated uncertainty, personalization, correction, high-stakes reliance, represented authority, and accuracy or neutrality claims.

Research boundary

The Division does not adjudicate universal truth. Epistemic Mode Theory, MAP/MAP-META, retrieval evaluation, fact-checking, workflow forensics, and other approaches remain research or conditional methods unless a competent Profile and verification plan select them. Direct human-outcome claims require direct evidence.

Institutional boundary

This page does not establish a certification track, universal scoring rule, Guardian specialty, or current ACTIVE Division status.
